Meet Dr. Adam Paddock
Dr. Adam Paddock was born and raised in Metairie, Louisiana. He graduated from Brother Martin High School in New Orleans, during which time he was blessed to have met his wife and best friend, Amy, at a high school football game at Tad Gormley Stadium. He studied interdisciplinary coursework, literature, and zoology in the Louisiana State University Honors College before completing his LSU undergraduate degree.
Dr. Paddock earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee. Clinical Externship rotations included the James H. Quillen VAMC in Johnson City, TN and Eyecare Associates in Metairie, LA, where he learned firsthand from his childhood optometrist and mentor, Dr. Chuck Stumpf. Areas of particular clinical experience and interest gained from these sites include: ocular disease, low vision rehabilitation, and family primary eyecare.
On returning to Louisiana after optometry school, Dr. Paddock spent four years exploring practice opportunities in Metairie and Baton Rouge before his serendipitous meeting with Dr. Chris Wroten and beginning the blessing of his career at Bond-Wroten Eye Clinic. Dr. Paddock enjoys the wide variety of patients at Bond-Wroten, spending much of his time managing glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, anterior segment diseases, and primary eyecare, including refractive conditions, contact lens and pediatric patients. Limited but dedicated areas of his schedule are carved out for specialty service in low vision rehabilitation care and specialty contact lens fitting.
Dr. Paddock is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Optometry Association of Louisiana, the New Orleans Contact Lens Society, and he served as President of the Northshore Society of the OAL from 2015-2017. He is Board Certified as a Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry and is also certified to perform advanced procedures in Louisiana. He thoroughly enjoys volunteering with the Louisiana Special Olympics Opening Eyes program. Dr. Paddock holds adjunct faculty positions with Southern College of Optometry and University of the Incarnate Word Rosenberg School of Optometry and has served as the Extern Director for fourth year optometry students rotating through the clinic since 2017.
Dr. Paddock and his wife raised their three children in Hammond as members of Holy Ghost School and Church. While away from work, hobbies include spectating at his kids’ activities (including loads of soccer, dance, and lacrosse over the years), LSU sports, and gardening.
